Advent calendar guide

Advent calendars

We are already in November which means I’m on the hunt for advent calendars! Can you handle that Christmas is less than 8 weeks away and December 1st is just 4 weeks in our future!

Martha Brook advent calendarLast year I bought the Martha Brook advent calendar; I absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it for any stationery addicts out there. The big selling point for me was that it was personalised; just lush!

The boys had Minecraft & Hot Wheels last year and with so much choice available I think we’re going to change it up this year.

So, here are my top picks for our family this year (Shaun doesn’t want one so it’s just the boys and myself)…

advent calendars

For Grayson I’ll go with a Paw Patrol one. There are plenty to choose from on Amazon.

Tristan is a bit trickier but he loves Lego so I think we’ll choose one from their range.

Charlotte Tilbury advent calendarAnd finally an advent calendar for myself… I’m honestly torn as I am a stationery addict, however I feel I want something different this year so I think I might go with Charlotte Tilbury’s Charlotte’s diamond chest of beauty stars one this year. I’ve always wanted to try her products and this seems like the perfect opportunity.

other faves

With so many (like SO many) advent calendars to choose from I’m also sharing a few of my other favourites.

I’m going to stick to my guns and go with Martha Brook’s advent calendar again this year for stationery addicts!

For beauty lovers, this is a tough one. Here are my favourites…

Harvey Nichols Beauty Advent Calendar

Why? It features 30 of their most sought-after brands including La Mer, La Prairie and Fenty. It retails at just £250 with a value of £1200! Crazy value to get all those amazing miniatures (it even has 12 full size products) for that price.

Elemis advent calendarElemis Skin Wellness Advent Calendar: The Complete Collection

Why? Well firstly I just love Elemis products and use them myself. But I also love this advent calendar because it contains all their fan-favourite products like the Superfood Glow Priming Moisturiser, Pro-Collagen Marine Cream in full size plus their Frangipani Monoi Body Cream! These are some of my favourite products of theirs!

It retails for £180 and is worth over £420.

Molton Brown’s advent calendar

This is one of my faves because I just love all their products and their advent calendar has all their best products for you to spoil yourself with.

They have a few holiday fragranced products plus others such as orange & bergamot in a hand cream and fiery pink pepper bath & shower gel. It retails for £195 with a value of £329. Amazing!

for the kids

Build a bear advent calendarFor the kids, the options are pretty endless. Lego is great for all kids (and maybe a few parents too?), but I think the Build-a-bear one is super cute and unique as it’s the first time I’ve seen it. This fidget one has some great little fidget toys which my boys love to play with.

I’m honestly not a fan of any of the chocolate ones, mainly because my kids open them in the morning and then will obviously want to eat the chocolate straight away and then will want more… that then starts an argument that so easily can be avoided.

However, seeing as I’m doing an advent calendar post I thought I’d share some of the chocolate filled ones that caught my attention.

  1. Lindt advent calendarTony’s Chocolonely is delicious chocolates so I’m sure their countdown calendar will be fab

  2. has a wide range of options available this year
  3. Lindt never fails to disappoint
  4. Kinder Bueno chocolate advent calendar

So there you have it folks; a little help amongst the mine-field of advent calendars! Personally I wish I could have all the advent calendars but alas!

Much love xxx
