Vegetarianism

Vegetarianism by definition is the practice of abstaining from the consumption of meat (red meat, poultry, seafood and the flesh of any other animal), and may also include abstention from by-products of animal slaughter.
Am I currently a vegetarian? No! But it is something that has been rolling around my head for some time now.

My thoughts:
1. Eggs – the protein is all in the white of the egg (fat in the yolk). But if you think about it we only (obviously) eat eggs that haven’t been fertilised hence no chick. But basically, to me, I’m starting to feel like eggs are gross – I’m eating the cocoon that grows the chick!
2. Dairy – when I was breastfeeding Tristan he suffered cramps & wind when I had any diary so I cut it out for about 2 months. It didn’t really bother me that much. I’ve basically cut out milk (wherever possible) since 13th July and it’s pretty easy. What freaks me out about milk & diary products? It’s a cows milk used to feed her young. I wouldn’t even taste my own breastmilk yet I’d happily drink & eat dairy!
3. Meat – I’m not a cannibal so why must I eat animal flesh? It’s pretty gross and does freak me out! Those poor animals! I usually try not to think about what I’m eating otherwise I would stop eating. Don’t get my started on biltong – especially if Tristan’s had it in his mouth! *vomit*

So what is the whole point of this post? I’m not 100% sure to be honest. Do I want to become a vegetarian? I think there’s a good chance I will, but I have a lot of homework to do first. I need to research foods & recipes I’d use to replace meat. I’d need to sort out my pantry, fridge & freezer to reflect that.
Also, the definition of a vegetarian who doesn’t eat dairy, eggs or fish is also a little confusing so what would I be ‘labelled’ as then? And does it really matter what the ‘correct’ label is?

Are you a vegetarian? Do you have any advise, suggestions, website links, etc you can share with me? I would love to hear from you.
